WAYS TO HELP
HOLIDAY ADOPTIONS
Each year, our families are adopted throughout the community for both Thanksgiving and Christmas Holidays. Holiday dinner groceries and a few gifts for the children are requested. Watch for the adoptions to start.
September 1st we start collecting adoption requests from families and October 1st we start matching families to the adopters specifications.
Donations of Holiday dinner items are also needed during this time. Both the non-perishable and Turkeys, pies and rolls.

DONATE FOOD
An easy way to meet a practical need is to donate food!
All year long, we accept non-perishable food donations to fill the shelves of our food pantry! You can join us in keeping our pantry stocked by donating food at any time!

If you are hoping to meet a specific and immediate need, simply contact us and ask what items we are running low on and you can be a part of meeting immediate needs for those in our community!

HOST A FOOD DRIVE: Partner with us by hosting a food drive through your organization!
SERVE AT THE FOOD PANTRY: We would love to host your team or volunteers at our pantry where they can tour the food pantry and help stock the shelves, and be a part of serving through the donation pick ups!

DONATE FINANCIALLY
Monetary donations help to play a vital role in our efforts. When we have monetary donations, it serves to fill the gaps in lack of food donations enables us to provide help with emergency utility bills, heating oil, evictions and cover the cost of prescriptions.

HOST A FUNDRAISER
You can raise awareness and financial support for the work of Mt Airy Net by hosting or sponsoring a fundraiser in the community! Some ideas of what effective
5K’s, donation collection jars, raffles, 50/50, Bingo night, % of purchases, etc.

VOLUNTEER YOUR TIME
We have a variety of ways that you can volunteer your time to serve those in need in our community!
Serve in the office! We have regular volunteers that serve weekly in our crisis office interacting with families coming in.
Serve in the pantry! Volunteers serve weekly in the pantry sorting and shelving donations and getting food baskets ready for the day.
Serve with donation pick-ups! Volunteers go to various businesses and other non-profits to pick up donations as needed.
Serve with big drive help! Occasionally there will be a need for help in the pantry when there has been a large food drive and many donations need to be sorted and expiration dates checked before shelving.
Serve as a board member! Members are needed to give support and direction to the Director and Pantry manager and to represent the Net throughout the community.
*Due to the fact that we have very dedicated volunteers that have committed to come in once a week to volunteer, we often do not have a need for additional volunteers unless there is a large food drive that has come in or a volunteer’s schedule changes. Just let us know how you’re interested in helping and we will see if there’s a need at this time or keep your info for future needs.
